How to Stay Organized as a Real Estate Agent

In any career, staying organized is the best approach to increase your efficiency and best utilize your time. If you’re a real estate agent, staying organized will save you time and effort while also making a great impression on your clients.

3 Ways to get yourself organized

Here are three easy ways to get organized!

Watch some quick and easy strategies from our LionDesk Team on how to become more organized and productive.

1. Always plan out your week in advance.

Planning out your week ahead of time is crucial. This will ensure that your focus doesn’t drift away from the key tasks and goals you have for the week. You can set goals on a daily and weekly basis. Leave yourself wiggle room for when things pop up, but keep yourself accountable to setting and hitting your weekly goals.

Our director of marketing, Marni Hale, offers some advice on how to keep organized. Her top tip – Plan your week ahead!

Pro Tip: Sundays are the best days to plan your week.

2. Make a weekly calendar and checklist for yourself and your team.

One of the easiest ways to stay organized is through a personal and team calendar. Block off “focus” time for yourself. For example, on Tuesday at 2PM each week I will spend an hour reaching out to past clients for referrals. By setting focus time, and actually blocking out your calendar, you are less likely to have things slip, or set meetings during a time when you’re supposed to be doing a task. Think of it as a meeting with yourself!

Jen Kelly, our Director of Client Success, explains how she likes to stick to a schedule and keep a checklist.

Pro Tip: Make sure you hold yourself and your team accountable!

3. Prioritize your time to work more productively.

Setting goals is important, setting their priority is even more so. Remember: If everything is high priority, then nothing is high priority. When you set your goals, make sure to write them out in order of their priority so you know which are the most important goals to focus on for the week.

Our director of business development, Randy Tobbe, provides his best advice! He claims that prioritizing all of your duties before structuring your to-do list is the secret.

Check out the  80/20  Power Grid he mentioned in his clip.

Pro Tip: Sequence or schedule your tasks together.

“For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned.”
